Alistair Clunas, Aberdeen Greenspace Chief Executive, said:  "Aberdeen Greenspace is pleased to support Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels.  The red squirrel is one of Scotland’s iconic mammals and we are committed to ensuring that it will continue to delight the people of Aberdeen in local woods and gardens for years to come.”

A spokesperson from Aberdeenshire LEADER Local Action Group said:  “The Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrel’s Project is vital to safeguard North Scotland’s red squirrel population.  The Rural Aberdeenshire LEADER programme is part funding the SSRS North East Project Officer's post to deliver real and tangible benefits to the people of Grampian.”

Gillian French, Programme Manager for Biffaward, commented:  "Biffaward is committed to supporting projects which have a real impact on the preservation of environmental spaces and endangered species and the Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrel project will most certainly do that. As part of the Landfill Communities Fund, Biffaward aims to turn landfill waste into sustainable environmental benefits across the UK. Biffaward funding will help Scottish Wildlife Trust to both protect the existing habitat and directly contribute to the ongoing restoration of these important sites."
